If you look at your social media pages these days, you'll likely see your timeline littered with pictures of cats and dogs…along with fish, hamsters, snakes and pretty much any pet you can imagine. Today is National Pet Day. It comes around every year on April 11th and is a great way to share pictures of your furry (or scaley or wet) pet!
If you have followed F&D over the past few years, you know we are INCREDIBLY pet friendly! Not only do all of our employees work from home so they can spend all day long with their pets, but we also encourage everyone to have their pets join our weekly team calls! Very often we'll see dogs pop up in the background of calls…or watch cats walk across keyboards (sometimes prompting strange chat messages!).
In the spirit of this special day, we are including a collage of F&D's furriest team members! Check out the photos below of our work buddies!
You might have noticed that some of the submissions are awesome digital drawings of our pets. That's because our CEO's daughter, Olivia Pearson, has followed in her mom's entrepreneurial footsteps and has launched her own Etsy shop selling digitally drawn pictures of animals. Many of our team members and their families have supported her in this endeavor. If you'd be interested in supporting Olivia's Etsy shop, named Henry's Doodles, after the family's late goldendoodle, Henry, please visit the link below and consider a pet portrait of your own. They also make great gifts for family and friends!
This month, we visit with Jody Stromquist, one of our Operations Administrators…check out her answers below:
How Long Have You Been With F&D: 5 months, started November 6th.
Favorite Movie: Ugh, I have so many, so I'll name a few. Remember the Titans, Top Gun, A Few Good Men.
Favorite Book: I'm not a book reader; never have been. I hated book reports in school. I tried the audio book thing recently, but I just can't get into it. Lol
Favorite Band / Artist: I can't really say that I have a favorite band/artist. I like all genres of music. I mostly listen to country and current top 40 hits. However, I enjoy listening to Contemporary Christian music when I have a hard day. It helps me relax.
If you could have any job in the world, what would you do? Definitely something in the Forensics field. I love watching Crime TV shows and have always been intrigued by investigative work.
Where is the most breathtaking place you've ever travelled? Last year we took a family vacation to Estes Park, CO. It was simply breathtaking!! The mountains, the views; seriously, nothing compares! My husband and I took a motorcycle trip to Sturgis a couple of years ago and I really love Deadwood and Spearfish Canyon, but Colorado is my favorite place so far.
Fun Fact About You: When I was about 12 or 13, I was babysitting my brother and sister. I called in to the radio station and won a pair of tickets to the Bell Biv Devoe concert. I could barely contain my excitement when my parents walked in the door, and I shouted, “I won tickets to BBD!” My dad says, “you won tickets for a pair of underwear?” No, Dad, not BVD's. Anyways, I ended up selling the tickets to my cousin and bought my first pair of Nike sneakers.
From Jody: “Attached is a picture of our family trip to Colorado last summer. This picture was taken at the top of the Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 12,183 feet. The drive up and down the mountain side was probably the most scared I've ever been in my life because you're only what seems like just inches from the edge. The breathtaking views were well worth it, in my opinion."
Watch this space next month for our next “Get to Know F&D” interview!
