Pausing to Give Thanks

Hours become days, days become weeks, and weeks become months at a pace that seems to go more quickly the older we get. In the hustle of the modern world, we often forget to pause, reflect, and give thanks for life’s many blessings. At Finch & Daisy we hope that wherever you are and whatever you are doing when you read this note, you take some time this Thanksgiving season to pause and give thanks to those people that matter most to you. We are going to use this space to reflect on a few of the things we are thankful for.

Small Business Saturday

As many of our readers may know, the Saturday after Thanksgiving (11/26) is designated as Small Business Saturday. It is a day to encourage folks to support and spend money at local businesses, and help these small businesses prosper. A few facts about small businesses:

  • Employ 47.3% of the American workforce.

  • Created 12.7 million net new jobs between 1995 and 2020.

  • Account for 44% of US economic activity.

As part of our F&D Gives Back program, we launched a Small Business Saturday event to encourage our team members to support small businesses in their communities. We are sending gift cards to interested team members who will in turn use them to patronize their favorite locally owned businesses. Stay tuned for pictures on Finch & Daisy’s social media pages to see where our team shopped and the businesses they supported.

As a small business ourselves, we understand the importance of small businesses for our national, state, and local economies. We are thankful to be able to support other small businesses in their journey and play a small part in helping them prosper.

Veterans Day

In addition to Thanksgiving and the beginning of the holiday season, in November we set aside time on Veterans Day to celebrate and honor all those who served our country in the armed forces. Veterans are our family, our friends, and our neighbors. It is important to take time this month to thank them for their sacrifices and service to our country. Never underestimate how important a simple “thank you for your service” may mean to those who serve. But far more than saying “thank you” one day a year, it is important to remember to give thanks every day and support veterans and their families throughout the entire year.

At F&D we continue to look for ways to help support the local Beyond the Yellow Ribbon organization that assists veterans and their families in need. We are thankful to the men, women, and their families for their sacrifices in ensuring our freedom is protected.

Finally, at Finch & Daisy we are thankful for our clients and the trust you place in us every day. We continue to be amazed and grateful for the opportunities we are given to partner with you and help your business succeed.
